Black & White with Shades of Grey

I have a love for Black and White Photography.

I admire the way it enables a portrait to be captured, revealing a hidden beauty seen by the photographer. It takes away the distraction of colour, bringing forth its individual story and emotion.

Melbourne based photographer Christopher Tovo, known for his talent of bringing together light and shade to perfect the art of Black & White Photography is a admired photographer of mine. Check out his work on www.christophertovo.com

Below is some of his work and also that of other admired photographs.

We All Need A Reminder...

Today a friend emailed me some reminders that we all could use once in a while.

We all have at times, more than not, felt unworthy. I myself have struggled with self-image. I sometimes believe I do not meet society's expectations of what beauty is. I have at many times, wanted to run and hide, feeling inadequate. But as they say, ''beauty is in the eye of the beholder''.  It is so much more than skin deep.

Excepting what you have, and what you don't is just the beginning. It is learning to love every flaw and imperfection, knowing they are what define you and create your individual beauty making you PERFECT.

By The Beach...

Based in Bali, Ben Macleod is the designer behind mens swimwear 'Bensons Boardshorts'

We shot the latest campaign down in Portsea at an amazing mansion by the ocean. The photographer was Amanda Fordyce and styling by Elaine Marshall. The male talent was Tom Davidson who I have had the pleasure to work with quite a few times.

Anything 'M'...

This is year I celebrated my 20th birthday with my good friend Michael Harris at Boutique Nightclub in Prahran.

The theme was anything starting with 'M'. I went as Nicki MINAJ and Michael as Maverick. There were also the Mario Brothers, Mexicans, Micki and Mini Mouse, Miss Universe, Maids and many more.

Its An Addiction...

It is true when they says tattoo's are addictive.

I now have five tattoo's and no plans on stopping either. All tho, have great meaning to me!

My first was on the side of my right foot written in Maltese its says 'without sacrifice there is no victory)
The second written on the side of my wrist in Spanish is 'what will be will be'
My third and so far my favourite is my first big piece (below) of a photo from a shoot taken by the talented Rena Harvey of Studio 76. It represents LOVE 'for those who know me, for those who love me true'
The fourth is FIVE dots down the back of my neck representing my five family members. As the saying goes 'family always have your back'
My most recent is a stick figure cross behind my left ear.

the tattoo representing LOVE on my forearm

Rise Of Dawn

Good friends of mine Alana & Stevie Pallister have launched a new women's label called RISE OF DAWN which is sold in their own stores Tiger Mist (Eltham, Ivanhoe and Doncaster).

I have modelled three of their campaigns with amazing Photographer Emily Abay.

The Pallister sisters have some amazing designs and are such a pleasure to work with!
Here are just a few images from the label.
